Expression of Interest (EOI) – Subsidy of Solar agroprocessing
Project: Solar Energy for Agro-Processing and Livelihoods (SEAL)
Location: Kassala State, Sudan

Project Duration: March 2026 – 30 April 2026

 

Mercy Corps is seeking to partner with qualified and legally registered Solar Energy Companies to implement a Purchase Incentive/Results-Based Financing (RBF) Scheme in Kassala State.

The goal of this activity is to increase the adoption of solar-powered agro-processing equipment (e.g., solar dryers, solar mills, Oil presser, and packaging systems) among small and micro-entrepreneurs and agricultural cooperatives.

 

Partnership Scope

Selected companies will:

  • Supply and install high-quality solar-powered agro-processing equipment to pre-selected beneficiaries.
  • Receive a 60% purchase incentive (subsidy) per unit directly from Mercy Corps upon successful installation and verification.
  • Receive the remaining 40% co-payment from beneficiaries. ( (MSMEs/Cooperatives).

 

Eligibility Requirements

Interested companies must:

  • Legal Status: Be legally registered in Sudan with valid business registration and tax clearance.
  • Technical Capacity: Demonstrate proven experience in solar systems and agro-processing machinery supply and installation.
  • Local Presence: Have a physical office, workshop, or dedicated maintenance agent in Kassala State.
  • After-Sales Service: Provide a minimum 12-month warranty and ensure a 48-hour repair response time.
